Imaging Applications Specialist

The Role

The Imaging Applications Specialist is an experienced MRI radiographer stepping into a clinical applications role, working in a multicultural environment within a highly innovation-driven company. The role combines clinical and applications skills. You will be responsible for:

  • the implementation of service quality checks by performing protocol installations and training, while ensuring image quality is maintained to the highest standard required by clinical data
  • carrying on scanning activities using the company’s MR scanner(s)


  • Install MRI protocols at different sites and perform quality checks on MRI phantoms
  • Perform MRI scans and train imaging staff on company’s protocols
  • Write site visit reports and scanning manual documentation
  • Support and work alongside Data Analysis problem solving cases for customers
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation into acquisition protocols and patient scanning workflows
  • Train and provide assistance to the image analysis team on data quality
  • Work closely with MRI physicists and image scientists in the development of new clinical applications
  • Represent the company at international conferences and trade shows

Educational Requirements


  • BSc in diagnostic radiography or equivalent to meet the registration requirements of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)


A postgraduate qualification in an area of specialization

Knowledge and Experience Requirements


  • Extensive post-registration experience in MRI scanning
  • Ability to perform high quality abdominal MRI scans
  • Excellent networking and communication skills to establish and maintain relationships with a variety of people at different levels and in different locations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ready to travel nationally and internationally


  • Experience with three main MRI manufacturers (bonus if extensive experience with GE)
  • Experience in cardiac MRI
  • Ability to speak another language
  • Experience in bone densitometry (DXA)
