MRCP+
This ground-breaking new quantitative imaging tool uses artificial intelligence led technology to enhance MRCP images. MRCP+ creates true 3D rendered models of enhanced data and metrics to facilitate visualization and quantitative assessment of the biliary tree and pancreatic duct.
An advanced biliary visualization software that:
• Quantitatively analyses the biliary tree and pancreatic duct
• Uses a noninvasive method without contrast
• Can be generated using historical MRCP images
• Requires no additional hardware, reducing capital expenditure
What is MRCP+?
MRCP+ is a noninvasive diagnostic tool that calculates quantitative 3D biliary system models.1 It enables the measurement of bile duct widths and automatic detection of regions of variation. MRCP+ includes tools for interactive segmentation and labelling of the biliary system and structures. It allows for regional volumetric analysis of the biliary tree, pancreatic duct, and gallbladder.
Combining image viewing, processing, and reporting tools, the quantitative metrics provided are designed to support physicians in the visualization, evaluation, and reporting of hepatobiliary structures.
This information is provided through software-as-a-service in an easy-to-read report delivered directly to the radiologists or referring clinicians.
MRCP+ is available clinically, with FDA 510(k) clearance and CE marking.
The American Medical Association (AMA) issued two Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes for the Perspectum MRCP+.
The following Category III CPT codes may be reported by physicians, hospitals for outpatient services, Independent Diagnostic Testing Facilities and Ambulatory Surgery Centers: 0723T and +0724T. These codes go live July 1, 2022.
CPT Code: 0723T – MRCP+
Quantitative magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (QMRCP) including data preparation and transmission, interpretation, and report, obtained without diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination of the same anatomy (e.g., organ, gland, tissue, target structure) during the same session.Codes that cannot be used in conjunction with 0723T74181, 74182, 74183, 76376, 76377, 0724T, when also evaluating same organ, gland, tissue, or target structure.
CPT Code: +0724T – MRCP+ add-on to abdominal MRI w/wo contrast
Quantitative magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (QMRCP) including data preparation and transmission, interpretation, and report, obtained with diagnostic MRI examination of the same anatomy (e.g., organ, gland, tissue, target structure) (list separately in addition to code for primary procedure).
Codes that can be used in conjunction with +0724T74181, 74182, 74183, when also evaluating same organ, gland, tissue, or target structure) (do not report 0649T in conjunction with 0648T).
Codes that cannot be used in conjunction with +0724T76376, 76377, 0723T
Potential applications of MRCP+
• Assessing autoimmune liver diseases (e.g., primary sclerosing cholangitis, autoimmune hepatitis)
• Screening living liver donors
• Monitoring post-liver transplant
